World Prematurity Day
World Prematurity Day is on November 17, but it has really sparked vivid memories for us. It’s the one day of the year I never thought I’d celebrate. But being the parent of a tiny miracle, it’s a privilege that we’re able to celebrate this day. I never wanted to miss out on my third trimester of pregnancy with Julia, but that was the hand of cards we were dealt. Catching up!
Whew! Where has this year gone? Between our girls just growing like weeds and keeping them entertained- this year has flown by! It is so hard to believe that we are in November! We are eagerly getting ready for the holiday season, and have begun our decorating at home. Life Lately…
Its been awhile since I have been able to sit in front of my laptop, and just catch up on life. Right now seems like the best time for me to just spill my guts and get out how I feel about school starting, summer ending, and our family. November thoughts
What a year. Is it even safe to say that we are close to the finish line of 2020? I am not sure about you, but for me this year felt like we were always idling at 75 mph, just waiting to spin our wheels or get a green light and move forward. This year has felt heavy for so many reasons, but ultimately I just think for what we feel like we have missed out on. Can you believe we are already halfway through the summer? This has been the summer of what can I order next off of Amazon, well.. maybe thats just everyday in our house. March for Babies 2019 Ambassador Family
This year for the 2019 March for Babies for Western Connecticut, we were chosen to be the walks Ambassador Family. We are so happy that we are able to share our story of how having Julia 11 weeks early changed our little family. Our sweet little Julia spent the first 50 days of her life in New Haven, at Yale. We were blessed to have a feisty little girl who beat the odds, and still continues to do so. Please donate to our team, help give other preemies and their families hope for tomorrow. Annual Memorial Blood Drive
Every year in August, I organize a memorial blood drive. It’s in memory of my father-in-law who passed away several years ago. He was an integral member in our family, and relied heavily on the generosity of strangers through blood donation. I started this annual event as a way to be able to preserve his memory in our community. Blood donation kept him going through his sickness and gave the family an additional 18 years to be able to love him. 3-0. Two numbers that seemed ancient to my 12-year-old self. I was a big daydreamer as a kid; I thought that I would travel the world. Visit the places that are the foundation for my family- I wanted to see Germany, where my grandma was raised and be able to share pictures with her.
