Welcoming Audrey: Maternity Photo Session

Taking maternity photos for Audreys pregnancy was a non negotiable for our little family. I wanted to schedule the photos early enough so that I was able to take them incase I was admitted for any reason, and also to use some of them as announcement photos. We always take family photos in the fall and use them for our annual Christmas card so these were going to be pretty special.

Choosing location was something that I leaned on our photographer, Candace Jeffery for. Candace is extremely talented, and we used her for our wedding as well! We chatted for awhile, and we decided to shoot at Yale University. Yale has a special place in our heart and we really wanted the grounds of Yale University to shine in our photos. The architecture of the buildings on campus is nothing short of beautiful and I knew that Candace had other shoots their previously, so she knew some great locations for photos on campus.

Our attire was something else that was thought out. For my pregnancy with Julia because I ended up in the hospital on bedrest, I wasn’t able to do maternity photos with her, but I still had a special gown in mind for the photos. I did my best to find that same dress and thats what I wore for our pictures this time around. Dave has a very handsome navy Hugo Boss suit so we planned on him wearing that and then I found a very cute white dress for Julia to wear. We did choose a more casual look of just jeans and a sweater for the second portion of the session, but the majority of our photos are in are more formal look.

These are just a handful of my favorite photos from that session, they are so beautiful and they really capture how excited we were to be in that moment together.
